Being raised in a small village in Peru I am accustomed to the reality that people face in the developing world. I try to capture this realism with dark, grounded imagery in some of my work, respectfully depicting the struggles one faces as well as the hope for a better life.
The imbalance is clear in my work as it differs from vibrant, abstract portraits to shaded, gravelly landscapes. My history and the stories of those around me is what inspires my photography. Consequently, I have heard hundreds of unfathomable stories, as I often talk to the strangers I shoot, which leaves me with an unsatisfied hunger to create more and more. These qualities mixed with my creative intuition are often the result of the photographs I produce.
